Satkhira: Police in a special drive from Sunday night to Monday morning arrested 34 people, including three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, from different areas in Satkhira on various charges.

Mizanur Rahman, inspector of the Special Branch of Satkhira police, said police launched a drive in different areas of eight upazilas and arrested the 34, including three activists of Jamaat and Sibir.

Some of the arrestees were accused in sabotage cases, added Mizanur.

Among the arrestees, 16 were from Sadar upazila, five from Kalaroa, three from Tala, two from Ashashuni, four from Shyamnagar, three from Debhata and one from Patkelghata upazila.
