Sylhet: A mobile court on Monday fined a branch of The Dhaka Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd in Moulvibazar Tk 1,000 for not keeping the national flag at half-mast on the National Mourning Day, reports UNB.

Locals got angered seeing that the Sreemangal branch of the bank situated at Old Bazar did not keep the national flag at half-mast in front of the bank and informed UNO Shahidul Haque of the matter in the afternoon.

Later, a mobile court, led by assistant commissioner (land) and executive magistrate Biswajit Kumar Paul, slapped a fine of Tk 1,000 on the bank for violating the Republic of Bangladesh Flag Rules, 1972.
