Benapole: A madrasa student was found dead at Jagadishpur in Chowgachha upazila of Jessore on Tuesday night seven days after his going missing.

The deceased is Maruf Hossain, around 12 years old, a class VII student at a local Dakhil Madrasah and son of Tota Miah, a resident of Shwarparajpur village.

Local people noticed Maruf’s body lying in the area at about 10:30pm and called police.

Later police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Being informed, Maruf’s family members identified the body to be his.

The Chowgachha Police Officer-in-charge Masiur Rahman said Maruf had gone missing seven days back.

A case was filed in this connection.
