Manikganj: Ferry service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route has been suspended since Wednesday morning due to rough condition of the River Padma triggered by inclement weather.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) suspended launch operation from about 10:00am to ward off any untoward incident amid squally wind on the river, said Assistant Director of BIWTA Faridul Islam.

The suspension will not be lifted until any development of the weather condition, he added.
