Kishoreganj: Three people, including two siblings, were killed in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Katiadi and Itna upazilas of Kishoreganj on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Manjil and his brother Ratan, residents of Sakua village in Karimganj upazila, and Amin, resident of Katiadi upazila.

Police said a thunderbolt hit Manjil and Ratan while they were working in a paddy field during a storm at Shimulbagh haor (wetland) in Itna upazila at about 9:30 am, killing them on the spot.

Meanwhile, Amin was killed as a thunderbolt struck him in a haor while he was working in a paddy field during a storm in Katiadi upazila at about 10:00 am.
