Munshiganj: A mobile court in Munshiganj on Saturday fined nine filling stations on Dhaka-Mawa highway for their alleged artifice of measurement and failure to produce essential documents.

The errant filling stations are SS Filling Station, Talukder Filling

Station, Mohammadia Filling Station, Nimtala Filling Station, Haldar Filling Station, Shikdar Filling Station, Meghna Filling Station, Islam Filling Station and Hasara Filling Station.

Talking to reporters, executive magistrate Abdullah Al-Mamun said a mobile court team, led by him, launched a sudden drive in the area and fined the nine filling stations TK 2.31 lakh.

The errant filling stations were giving 50-100 millilitre less of kerosene, diesel and octane in a litre, he said adding that some filling stations did not have the essential papers.
