5 Jamaat-Shibir activists among 37 held in Satkhira

Satkhira: Police in a special drive detained 37 people, including five leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its students wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, from different areas in Satkhira on various charges.
Mijanur Rahman, inspector of the district special branch of police, said police launched the drive from Wednesday night to Thursday morning in different areas of eight upazilas and detained the 37, including five leaders and activists of Jamaat and Shibir.
Some of the detainees were accused in sabotage cases, added Mijanur.
Among the detainees, 15 were from Sadar upazila, 10 from Kalaroa, two from Tala, three from Kaliganj, three from Ashashuni, two from Shyamnagar, one from Debhata and one from Patkelghata upazila.
