BNP leader dies from attack wounds at KMCH

Khulna: A local leader of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, who was injured in an attack by miscreants at Bhandarcoat village in Dumuria upazila on Friday night, died at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) early Saturday.
The deceased was Abul Kalam Fakir,40, vice-president of Bhandarcoat union unit of BNP and son of Iman Ali, a resident of the village.
Dumuria Police Station Officer-in-charge Tajul Islam said a gang of miscreants attacked Abul Kalam after he went out of the house to go to his fish enclosure at about 11:00pm on Friday.
The attackers then stabbed Kalam indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured.
Kalam was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injures at about 5:00am on Saturday.
