34 Jamaat-Shibir men detained in Natore
Natore: Police in a drive arrested 34 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir in different places of Natore early on Tuesday on various charges, including violence.
Abdul Khalek Molla, chief of Gurudaspur upazila unit Jamaat, and Amirul Islam, president of Lalpur upazila unit of Shibir, were among the arrestees.
The Gurudaspur police Officer-in-charge Dilip Kumar Das said Abdul Khalek Molla was arrested from his residence at Chanchkoir Puranpara in Gurudaspur upazila in the morning.
Besides, the law enforcers arrested 33 other Jamaat-Shibir men, including Amirul, in different places of Lalpur upazila in the morning.
