Missing Comilla Juba League leader’s skeleton found after 14 months

Comilla: Detectives recovered the skeleton of a Juba League leader, who went missing around 14 months ago, from the septic tank of a house at Thakurpara in Comilla city.
Tipped off, a team of Detective Branch of police recovered the skeleton of Tariqul Hasan Titu, Comilla municipality unit Juba League leader and son of Abu Taher Master of Baniapara area in Debidwar upazila, from the septic tank in the afternoon, said Shah Kamal Akand, sub-inspector of Comilla DB.
Earlier, the law enforcers, including police, DB and RAB members, encircled the house in the morning, reports UNB.
Titu went missing on 2 July 2015. Later, his wife Selina Akter filed a case with Debidwar Police Station, said DB sources.
The plainclothes police recovered the skeleton following the confessional statement of Shafiqul Islam Limon, a criminal, arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday night.
According to the confessional statement of Limon, he along with his associate Hridoy shot Titu to death after taking him to Thakurpara crematory on 2 July 2015.
They also dumped the body into the septic tank of a house.
Following Limon’s statement, police arrested Hridoy, conducted a drive taking him with them at about 10:30am on Tuesday, and recovered the skeleton of Titu.
Shah Abid Hossain, superintendent of Comilla Police, visited the spot.
