Gazipur: Muggers looted Tk 8 lakh after shooting a Bkash employee to death at Gazipura area of Gazipur city on Monday, reports UNB.

Firoz Talukder, officer-in-charge of Tongi Police Station, said four Bkash employees collected money from different shops in Gazipura and Sataish area of Tongi and gathered in a shop named ‘Maa Media General Store’ in the afternoon.

After counting the money, they along with security guard Abdul Hamid were getting into a microbus to go to their respective offices.

However, a group of armed muggers intercepted the microbus and opened fire at Hamid and snatched a bag containing the money from others, leaving the security guard critically injured.

The injured was taken to Tongi General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
