3 Jamaat leaders detained in Jessore
Benapole: Police in a drive arrested three leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami from Alamnagar village in Sadar upazila of Jessore early on Tuesday on sabotage charge.
The arrestees are Abdur Razzak, secretary of the Deyara union unit of Jamaat, Selim Reza, a resident of the village, and Jakir Hossain, a resident of Gobila village of the upazila.
Kotwali police assistant sub-inspector Aminur Rahman said on secret information, a joint team of Kotwali thana and Sajhiali police outpost conducted a raid on the house of Abdur Razzak early in the morning and arrested the trio.
Police also recovered some propagandist booklets and fliers from the house.
A case was filed in this connection.
