2 men beaten dead in Bandarban

Bandarban: Two people were beaten to death allegedly by their neighbour at Angapara in Roangchhari upazila of Bandarban on Tuesday night.

The deceased are Uikola, in his thirties, a resident of Angapara in Roangchhari upazila, and Apromong, believed to be 25 years old, a resident of Lama upazila.

Local people said Uikola and Apromong attacked the house of Thoailching Mong, a neighbour of Uikola, at the village at about 10:00pm over previous enmity.

At one stage, Thoailching Mong beat up the duo with a stick, leaving them dead on the spot.

Thoailching Mong went into hiding after the incident.

Deputy commissioner Dilip Kumar Banik and superintendent of police Sanjib Kumar Ray visited the spot.

The deputy commissioner allocated Tk25,000 for each of the families of the two deceased.
