Home goers face hassles on Narayanganj Road
Narayanganj: Severe gridlock on Narayanganj road amid the Eid-ul-Azha rush caused immense sufferings to thousands of people early on Friday.
Hundreds of vehicles were seen stationary on Dhaka-Chittagong, and Dhaka-Sylhet Highways, which is from Shiddhirganj upazila’s Signboard area to Shimrail, Sonargao, Kanchpur, Madanpur, Mograpara, Chaurasta, Rupganj’s Jatramura and Bhulta’s Gawsia area.
The holidaymakers said they are trapped into the gridlock for hours. Women and children are suffering most due to long queue of passenger buses and cattle-laden truck.
Traffic police Sergeant Mohammad Saifullah said the excessive pressure of vehicles caused gridlock on the highways.
