4 JMB suspects detained in Sirajganj
Sirajganj: Detectives arrested four suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from a madrasah in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj early on Tuesday.
The arrestees are Abu Bakar Siddiki, a resident of Gandail village in Kazipur upazila, and Joynal Abedin, a resident of Erandah village in Raiganj upazila, and his two sons—Borhan Uddin, and Imran Ali.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Miraz Uddin said a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted a raid on Jamiatul Quran Cadet Madrasah under Salanga thana in Raiganj upazila and arrested them at about 5:00am.
The law enforcers also recovered 10 live bombs, bomb making materials and propagandist books.
Details about the drive will be disclosed at a press briefing later, the SP added.
