Man set afire by son for motorcycle dies at DMCH
Dhaka: A man, who suffered burns in an arson attack on his house allegedly by his son following his refusal to buy him a motorcycle in Kamlapur area of Faridpur on 15 September, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday morning.
The deceased is ATM Rafiqul Alam Pintu, a resident of the area.
Rafiqul, who received 60 per cent burn injuries, died at the burn unit of DMCH at about 9:00am, said DMCH police camp in-charge Sub-inspector Bacchu Miah.
Earlier on 15 September, Mugdho, son of the deceased, demanded a motorcycle from Rafiqul.
When Rafiqul refused to buy the motorcycle, Mugdho locked an altercation with him.
At one stage, he set fire to Rafiqul’s house by pouring petrol, leaving Rafiqul critically burnt.
He was taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital from where he was referred to DMCH.
