Kurigram: A Bangladeshi was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Chhat Koraibari border in Roumari upazila of Kurigram early on Sunday.

The deceased, Taharul, a resident of village of Chhat Karaibari, was shot to death inside Indian Territory.

Dipchar camp BSF troops opened fire when Taharul went near the main pillar no. 1055 on Chhat Karaibari border and left him dead on the spot, said Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) members.

However, BGB battalion 35 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Rafiqul Hassan said a letter has been issued to the BSF authorities protesting the incident.

Earlier, on 23 September, two Bangladeshis were shot dead by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Kurigram’s Roumari and Jhenidah’s Baghadhanga borders.
