Narail: A Juba League leader was stabbed to death at Shiyerbar village in Lohagara upazila of Narail on Sunday night over establishing supremacy in the area.

The deceased is Ziaul Hasan, in his thirties, president of Salnagar union council’s ward no 7, a resident of the village under Salnagar union council.

Lohagara Police Officer-in-charge Jahangir Alam said there had been long standing dispute between Sikder and Mollah families of the village over establishing supremacy in the area.

Over the dispute, the men of Saifar Sikder attacked Ziaul and stabbed him indiscriminately at about 9:00pm, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was taken to Jessore Medical College Hospital where he died.
