Jhenidah: A schoolboy was shot to death by miscreants at Baghadanga in Khoshalpur border area of Maheshpur upazila on Wednesday night.

The deceased is Hasan, believed to be 17, student of class IX and a resident of Bakoshpota village of the upazila.

Yusuf Ali, uncle of the deceased, said local people of the border area discovered the body of Hasan lying in the area at about 8:30pm and brought it to their house.

Hasan’s family claimed that the members of Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on Hasan while he was going to the border area at night, leaving him dead on the spot.

Police suspected that Hasan might have been killed by BSF members.
