An unidentified youth was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police at about 3:30am on early Thursday at Mirpur in the capital.

Mirpur Police sub-inspector Zahir said some youths were holding a secret meeting at Shenpara area on early Thursday. As a police team reached there, they hurled several crude bombs at the law enforcers.

Police fired back and one of youths died on the spot.

Later, the body was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The identity of the deceased has not been known yet.
