Gazipur: A woman and her daughter were stabbed to death by miscreants at Kacharipur in Sreepur upazila in the early hours of Friday.

The deceased are Hasina Begum, and her daughter Arifa, a college student.

Local people said a group of miscreants entered the house of Shahjahan, son of Hasina around 1:00am and stabbed Arifa, Hasina and Shahjahan, leaving them critically injured.

Later, they were taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Arifa dead.

Meanwhile, Hasina died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while being moved to the hospital.

The reason behind the attack could not yet be known.
