Home Economics College students block Nilkhet intersection

Dhaka: Students of Home Economics College blocked Nilkhet intersection, one of the busiest roads in Dhaka, in the morning for turning the college into an institute under Dhaka University (DU).
Hundreds of students of the college took position on the road at about 10:30am, creating huge traffic gridlock at Ajimpur, Mirpur road and adjacent areas, reports UNB.
The female students also placed a demand to introduce co-education in the college.
Established in 1961, the college admits only female students in five departments —Food and Nutrition, Resource Management and Entrepreneurship, Child Development and Social Relationship, Art and Creative Studies, and Clothing and Textile.
