11 more held over Comilla arson

11 more people including four Shibir activists were arrested on Wednesday night over their suspected involvement in the recent arson attack at a bus in Comilla that killed eight people and injured 15 others.

Till now, a total of 26 people have been arrested over the incident.

Comilla police said they arrested those 11 persons from different areas of Chauddagram on Wednesday night.

Police said the four Shibir activists are Delwar Hossain, Jony Patowari, Alamgir Hossain and Abdur Rashid. The seven others have not been identified yet.

Miscreants hurled petrol bomb at a Dhaka-bound bus from Cox’s Bazar at Chauddagram in Comilla on Tuesday leaving seven people dead on the spot. Later, another burnt person died at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. Fifteen other people were burnt in the incident.

Comilla Police sub-inspector Nuruzzaman filed two cases over the incident. BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was charged in both cases as an instigator. Also,

Fifty-six persons including former Jamaat MP Abdullah Mohammad Taher were named and up to 20 other anonymous people were charged of murdering and committing terrorist activities.
