Dhaka: Dhaka North City mayoral candidate Abdullah Al Kafi Ratan and Dhaka South City mayoral candidate Bazlur Rashid Feroz on Tuesday boycotted the poll race bringing allegations of irregularities.

Communist Party of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal alliance backed Kafi Ratan and Bazlur Rashid announced their decision at a press briefing in Dhaka.

Earlier, DNCC mayoral aspirant Zonayed Saki, backed by Gonoshonghoti Andolon boycotted the poll result in advance claiming vote rigging and irregularities. Prior to that, BNP-backed candidates boycotted the elections at the Dhaka South, Dhaka North and Chittagong cities over the same allegations.
