Munshiganj: A man allegedly stabbed his wife to death over family feud at Rikabi Bazar in Sadar upazila of Munshiganj early on Friday.

The deceased is Mitu, in his thirties, wife of Mintu of the area.

Local people said Mintu was a drug addict and often tortured Mitu over trifling matters.

An altercation ensued between the couple at the dead of night as Mintu sold an almirah of the house for money without informing his wife.

At one stage of altercation he stabbed Mitu indiscriminately, leaving her dead on the spot.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police arrested Mintu from Munshiganj General Hospital on Friday, said Sadar Police Officer-in-charge Yunus Ali.
