Rajshahi: A young man was stabbed to death allegedly by some of his neighbours at Gourangapur village under Tanore Upazila of Rajshahi on Saturday, police sources said.

The deceased is Rubel, 28, son of Abdur Rashid Master, resident of the same village.

Mirja Abdus Salam, Officer-in-Charge of Tanore Police Station, told the journalists that some three people caught Rubel and stabbed him indiscriminately causing his instant death at about 7:30am.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. They also arrested Montaj Ali and his son Abdullah in connection with the murder, the police officer added.

Quoting the villagers’ statements, he said previous enmity over a piece of disputed land was the main reason behind the killing.
