Bus plunge kills 4

Kushita: At least four persons were killed and 30 others were injured when a bus plunged into a ditch at Mirpur upazila in Kushtia in the early hours of Thursday.
The victims were taken to Kushtia General Hospital. Police and fire fighters are conducting rescue operation at the spot. 

The Mirpur police said a Faridpur-bound bus from Jaipurhat plunged into a ditch as the driver lost control over the bus in Kachari area on Kushtia-Pabna Highway at about 3:00am.

The passengers were going to Biswa Jaker Monjil at Atroshi, Faridpur, said the police.

Police also said the injured are in critical condition.

The deceased are Alam Mandal, in his fifties, resident of Keshabour village and also president of Jaker Party of Akkelpur, Jahidul Islam, believed to be 40, Nure Alam Sidiqque, in his fifties, and bus driver Parvez, in his 34.
