Rangpur: A young man was beaten to death over playing Ludu in Uttom Babipara area of Rangpur city on early Sunday.

The deceased is Moslemuddin, 20, son of Azizul Islam of the area.

Police and locals said an altercation took place between Moslemuddin and his neighbour Jahidul Islam, son of Abdur Rouf, at about 2:30am over playing Ludu.

As a sequel of the altercation, Jahidul and his associates beat Moslemuddin, leaving him dead on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
