Dinajpur: A patient allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the rooftop of Dinajpur Medical College Hospital on early Monday.

The deceased is Mahbub Ali, in his thirties, a resident of Khalpara area in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur.

Family and hospital authorities said Mahbub was admitted to the hospital on 15 October with ulcer complications. Mahbub jumped off the rooftop of the hospital building at about 2:30am.

The reason behind the suicide could not be known yet.

The Kotwali Police Officer-in-charge Redwanur Rahim said they are yet to receive any complaint in this connection.
