Bagerhat: Police in a raid arrested four suspected members of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Khalishkhali village in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat early on Tuesday.

The Bagerhat Superintendent of Police (SP) Pankaj Chadra Roy said a team of police raided in a house at the village at about 3:00am.

Sensing the presence of police, the militants opened fire at them, prompting them to retaliate that triggered a gunfight.

Later police entered the house and arrested four of them.

Three policemen were also injured in the incident.

Police also recovered a revolver, two bullets, five crude bombs and bomb making materials from the house, added the SP.
