Gazipur: A schoolboy, who went missing on Wednesday, was found dead in a water body at Atabaha in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur on Thursday night.

Police said local people spotted the body of Pantha Saha, a class VIII student of Chapair Bibi High School and son of Uttam Kumar from the Shonaida Beel, at night and called them.

They recovered the body that bore several injury marks and sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Pantha went out of his home on Wednesday afternoon following a phone call from his cousin, Shubho Saha, and remained missing since then, police said.

Meanwhile, police arrested Shubho.
