Sylhet: A young man was stabbed to death by miscreants in Patharipara area of Beanibazar upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased is Wahid, 19, son of Abdul Mannan, resident of the village and a sales officer of Pran-RFL of the upazila.

Abul Bashar Mohammad Badruzzaman, Inspector of Beanibazar Police Station (also an investigation officer), said locals spotted his stabbed body in the area near his house in the morning and informed police.

Later Police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

The police also suspected that miscreants stabbed him to death early in the morning and left his body in a field near his house. The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
