Manikganj: A man was hacked to death by miscreants at Machain village in Harirampur upazila in Manikganj on Wednesday night.

The deceased is Billal Hossain, in his forties, a resident of Kakrol village of the upazila.

The Harirampur Police Officer-in-charge Nazrul Islam said a gang of miscreants attacked Billal in the area while he was returning home from his workplace at Machain Bazar by a bicycle at about 9:00pm.

At one stage, the attackers stabbed Billal indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him dead on the spot.

Locals spotted the body of Billal lying in the area on Thursday morning and informed police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
