A truck driver and a trader were killed and another received burn injuries as miscreants hurled petrol bomb on a truck in Belail area of Sadar upazila in Bogra on early Thursday.

The deceased are truck driver Palash and betel leaf trader Sahidul Islam of Shibganj upazila of the district.

Witnesses said the truck was going to Bogra from Jhenidah. Miscreants stopped the truck on the way and hurled petrol bomb. The driver lost control over the steering and the truck hit two empty buses on the roadside. Consequently, fire spread to the two buses too.

Ziaur Rahman Medical police outpost in-charge Shah Alam said the trader Shahidul died on the spot. Two other injured Suman and Palash were admitted to Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. While they were being shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, truck driver Palash died on the way.
