Jamalpur: A minor boy was hacked to death by his ‘drug addict’ uncle at Pacchim Koyra village in Madarganj upazila on Sunday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased is Shaheen, 8, son of Al-Amin of Daripara in the district town. He used to live at his maternal grandparents’ house in Pacchim Koyra village.

Quoting family members, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Madarganj Model Police Station M Rafiqul Islam said Shahid, 25, maternal uncle of Shaheen, hacked his nephew indiscriminately at about 8:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.

Local people caught Shahid and handed him over to police, the OC added.
