Gaibandha: A man of indigenous Santal community was found dead in a sugarcane field of Baghda Farm area in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha on Monday night.

The details about the deceased could not be known immediately.

Gobindaganj Police Officer-in-charge Subrata said local people spotted his body in the field at about 11:00pm and called police.

Later police recovered the body.

Earlier on Sunday, a Santal man, Shyamal Soren, was killed and 30 others injured in a clash that ensued when the Santal community protested the grabbing of their lands by some sugar mill workers with the help of police.
