Khulna: A housewife was found dead in Islampara Second Lane area under 31-no Ward in Khulna city on Thursday.

The victim is Kaniz Fatema Asha, 25, an employee of Basundhara Diagnostics Center in the city, hailed from Kazdia village under Rupsha upazila of the district.

Police said she was found hanging from a ceiling pillar (vim). Her tendons of two hands were broken and face was covered by scotch tape.

Asha had a feud with her husband over few months, locals said, adding that she might have been killed after rape by the miscreants last night though the killers are yet to be ascertained.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Labanchara Police Station Sarder Mosharraf Hossain said Asha was strangulated by criminals last night. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body from her teen-shed house hanging with a ceiling pillar, he added.

The body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) morgue for autopsy, Mosharraf said, adding that it was difficult to say about the rape incident without medical report.
