3 cases filed over Narsingdi clash

Narsingdi: Three separate cases have been filed with Raipura Police in connection with a clash that left four people dead, including three in a reported police firing, and 50 injured over establishing supremacy at Nilokkhya Union in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Monday.

Raipur police Officer-in-charge Mazharul Islam said sub-inspector Zahirul Islam filed a case against 2,000-3,000 people for vandalizing, attacking and obstructing police from performing their duties while sub-inspector Obaidul Islam filed a murder case accusing 1,200 people on Monday night.

Sub-inspector Rupom of the Detective Branch on Tuesday morning filed a case under the Explosive Substance Act against Rahul, who was arrested from Sonakandi village of the union for supplying crude bomb, added the OC.

Meanwhile Abul Kalam Siddiki, Deputy Inspector General (operation) and superintendent of Narsingdi police visited the area in the morning.

Four people were killed, including three in reported police firing, during a clash between two groups over establishing supremacy at Sonakandi village in Raipura upazila on Monday. The clash also left 50 people injured.
