Jessore: An Ansar member was beaten by a group of miscreants at Benapole Customs House in Jessore on Tuesday evening.

The injured Anasar member is Feroz Hasan, in his thirties.

Shamprasad Adhikari, a member of Sharsha upazila Ansar, said Feroz was discharging his duties in front of Benapole Customs House in the evening.

Suddenly, a group of around ten miscreants swooped on him and beat him with rods and hammers indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured.

Later, local people rescued Feroz and sent him to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex where doctors referred him to Jessore General Hospital.
