AL activist killed in M’singh infighting

Mymensingh: An Awami League activist was killed and 10 others were injured in a factional clash of the ruling party over establishing supremacy at Balipara in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh on Wednesday.
The deceased is Saiful Molla, in his forties.
Balipara union council Chairman Golam Mohammad Badal, also the president of union unit Awami League, had long standing enmity with Abdul Bari, a convener of union unit Juba League, over establishing dominance in the union, said Trishal Police Officer-in-charge Maniruzzaman.
The supporters of both groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other following an altercation at about 1:00pm, triggering a clash that left Saiful people dead and ten others injured.
Police went to the spot and fired five bullets to disperse them.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
