3 BCL men held in Chuadanga for ‘snatching bid’
Chuadanga: Three local leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were arrested from Koshaghat area in Damurhuda on Thursday night for their alleged attempt to snatch a motorbike, reports UNB.
The arrestees are Abdur Rahman, former publicity secretary of district unit BCL, its Sadar upazila unit leader Tokon and its Pouro unit leader Rana Biswas.
Ibrahim Hossain, sub-inspector of detective branch (DB) of police , said they were trying to snatch the motorcycle of Shahin keeping him hostage at the gunpoint at night in the area.
Hearing his scream, local people rushed to the spot and caught the trio.
Later, they were handed over to DB police.
Police also seized a toy revolver from their possession.
The arrestees confessed that they were trying to snatch the motorbike according to the order of Tanjim Ahmmed Rony, a former member of BCL central committee.
However, a case was filed against the four BCL men, said Abu Zihad, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Police Station.
