Satkhira: Forest robbers kidnapped two fishermen from Nucho Khali canal in the Sundarban under Satkhira range on early Friday, reports UNB.

The victims are Rashid Gazi, son of Kalam Gazi of Parshwekhali village, and Azgar Ali, son of Sofedali of Kewratali village in Shyampur upazila of the district.

Quoting family members, assistant forest conservator of Satkhira Maksudul Alam said a gang of bandits picked up the two fishermen while they were asleep in their fishing boat in the canal in the early hours.

The hoodlums demanded Tk 1.5 lakh for the release of the fishermen, he said.
