14 Bangladeshis return after serving jail term in Indian jails

Benapole: Fourteen Bangladeshi women returned home through Benapole check post on Monday night after suffering in Indian jails for three years.
The returnees hail from different areas of Shariatpur, Gopalganj, Dhaka, Narail, Jessore, Mymensingh, Noakhali, Chuadanga, Jessore, Madaripur, Rangpur, Pabna and Bagerhat districts.
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through Benapole check post at night, according to BGB sources.
BSF arrested them three years ago while entering India with the help of human traffickers three and half years ago. Later they served three years’ jail term each in Indian jails.
Upon completion of their jail terms, the Indian government has returned them following repeated requests from the Home Ministry of Bangladesh.
