Sylhet: Police arrested a student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) from Kajolshah area of Sylhet on Monday evening over his alleged involvement with banned Islamist outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir.

The arrestee is Abdullah Jubair Mukta, in his twenties, resident of Boraigram in Natore and a student of the Civil and Environment Engineering Department at SUST.

Zedan Al Musa, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), said a team of Kotwali Police station arrested him along with 16 leaflets of the outfit.
