Nasirnagar attack prime suspect held in B’baria
Brahmanbaria: Police arrested a prime suspect of attacks on Nasirnagar Hindus from Kalaishripara of Brahmanbaria on Monday night.
The arrestee is Jahangir, a resident of Shangkardah village in Haripur union of Nasirnagar.
Iqbal Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), said police arrested Jahangir from the area at night.
Jahangir went into hiding after the incident, said the ASP.
On 30 October, some unruly people demolished 15 Hindu temples and vandalised more than 100 houses in the upazila following a Facebook post that allegedly hurt the religious sentiment of the Muslim community.
In two cases, 2,400 unidentified people were sued in this connection.
