Comilla:  Awami League-backed candidates were unofficially declared elected in all the posts in Daudkandi upazila election held amid boycott by the BNP-backed contestants on Saturday.

Returning officer Bibhar Kumar Biswas announced the polls results around 10:30pm.

Mohammed Ali was elected Upazila Chairman bagging 1,20,339 votes. His nearest rival pro-BNP candidate Abul Hashem polled 14,467.

Earlier, BNP-blessed candidates boycotted the election at the afternoon bringing the allegations of widespread vote fraud.
