Benapole: Police arrested an alleged drug peddler carrying one kilogram of heroine in Uposohor Park of Benapole on Sunday night.

The arrestee is Liton alias Hansh Liton, a resident of Birampur Kalitola area of the town.

Kotwali Police Assistant sub-inspector Hasanur Rahman said on information, a team of police conducted the drive in the area at night and arrested Liton along with one kilogram heroine, a pipe gun and a cartridge.

Sensing the presence of law enforcers, two other drug peddlers—Mofu Miah and Rawshan—fled away.

However, a case was filed against three of them.
