Mongla:  Two people were killed in a reported gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Dudmukhi area of Sharankhola range in Bagerhat on Wednesday noon.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

RAB claimed the deceased were forest robbers. RAB members recovered 11 foreign and locally made arms, 227 bullets, and some other illegal weapons from the spot.

The RAB 8 Deputy Commanding Officer Major Adnan Kabir said two forest robbers were killed in a gunfight with RAB in the East Sundarban area of Bagerhat at about 12:00 noon during a raid conducted by RAB.
