Awami League to accept President’s decision on EC: PM

Parliament: Mentioning that the Election Commission will be constituted as per the decision of the President following dialogue with political parties, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told Parliament on Thursday that her party will accept his decision.
"We'll surely accept whatever decision the President takes," said the Leader of the House during her 36-minute winding-up speech at the 13th session of 10th Parliament in the evening.
Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, said many are now saying many things and coming up with various suggestions in this regard. "But, the President has already taken initiatives in this regard and BNP also sent their suggestions to Bangabhaban. The President will now hold talks in this regard."
She reiterated that her government always wants to hold the election in a free, fair and neutral manner as it was the Awami League and she herself who had fought for establishing the rights of people for food and voting and many leaders and workers of Awami League and its associate bodies had laid down their lives for this cause.
The Prime Minister also said, "We want that a fair democratic process prevails in the country which will also expedite the economic development."
