3 hurt as rivals clash in Munshiganj
Munshiganj: Three people were injured in a clash between two rival groups in Lichutola area of Munshiganj on Saturday night.
The injured are Jahid, Razib, and Anik, all are in their twenties.
The Sadar Police Station Officer-in-charge Yunus Ali said two groups—one led by Shahjalal and the other by Manik—have long been at loggerheads over establishing dominance in the area.
Followers of both the groups locked in a clash with sharp weapons and fire arms at about 8:00pm on Sunday.
Jahid and Anik sustained bullet injuries and Razib was hacked with machete during the clash.
On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Later, Jahid and Razib were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while Anik was given treatment at a local hospital.
Additional police forces have been deployed in and around the spot to fend off any untoward incident.
